Hi guys,
I've been watching the bugzilla, and I've noticed that it's more of a
"to do" list than anything else. What I mean by this is that bugs
aren't assigned to anyone, there is little to no feedback on bugs
submitted by mailing list members, etc. I don't mean to make more work
for you guys, but if we're going to have a buzilla, we might as well use
it as it's meant to be used, right?
I agree. We have been dropping the ball lately. I made some comments
to the bugs already.
I've been trying to get some feedback about the '/etc/conf.d/ossec'
thing for gentoo, but I guess you've all been too busy to reply, or
don't have an interest. So, I can assign the bug to me, and now that I
have cvs access (and more or less have the commit issue resolved), I
should be able to make the changes and submit them, then ultimately
resolve the bug. But that's just one out of the, now 19, that are
there. Thoughts?
I made a comment there. You can go ahead and fix it, but remember that
/etc/ossec-init.conf is still needed by other parts of ossec (you may
link or copy these two files).
Also, just a couple, sort of random things. Where is everyone located?
Daniel, I thought you were in Boston based on your employer, but since
dev.ossec.net is in ADT (not sure what that is) you'd have to be either
in far eastern Canada, the middle of the Atlantic, or South America.
;-) Knowing where people are would help with schedule as far as knowing
when to expect responses, commits, etc. I'm in the US/Pacific time
zone, FWIW.
I live in Fredericton, NB Canada (the coldest place you can imagine
:)). I generally
do most of my work between 8pm-1am (my time) and during weekends..
OK, so it was only one sort of random thing. I had two, but I can't
remember what the other one was, just now. Maybe it'll come back to me.
Till then....
Cheers!
:)
Daniel
