[ossec-list] Re: /etc/client.keys not found

Thanks for you answer Daniel,

Well, the case is that I have added an agent, copied a key by following the instructions... should I restart the server? Maybe the problem has to do with the permission to write to the client.keys file? I also had some problems with not correctly set permissions (As another message talked about). I changed them manually, but maybe what I did was not enough.

Hi Tomas,

There is nothing wrong with your install. OSSEC chroots to /var/ossec
(or /usr/local/ossec in your case), so when it says /etc/client.keys,
it actually
means /usr/local/ossec/etc/client.keys. To fix this problem, you need to
run the manage_agent tool to add agents... If you don't need any agent,
you can just ignore this error (or do a local install).

Thanks,

Hi I have a problem that has been on the list previously (From the
ossec.log):

2007/02/22 11:31:28 ossec-remoted(1402): Authentication key file
'/etc/client.keys' not found.
2007/02/22 11:31:28 ossec-remoted(1701): No remote connection
configured. Exiting.

Somewhere is the prefix of my instalation /usr/local/ossec truncated,
but I do not understand where this happens. Has anybody manage to fix this?
