U can specify a smtp server on ossec.conf:
<smtp_server>smtp.server.</smtp_server>
But if u wanna use internal unix mailbox, it only work with a smtp
server i guess, it requires a smtp_server and use port 25! If u dont
want to run a local smtp server for this, u can check directly the
ossec logs (/var/ossec/logs/alerts/alerts.log)
But im a beginner too on ossec, maybe is possible what u want, wait
for an answer from Daniel! ^^
